Old City Coffee is a coffee shop in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is listed at 221 Church St, Philadelphia, PA 19106, which places it among the local businesses of Philadelphia that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Coffee in the United States is served by three kinds of places: national chains with drive-thrus and mobile ordering, independent neighborhood cafes that double as a workspace or a meeting spot, and specialty shops that roast their own beans or buy single-origin lots and brew them by pour-over, espresso or cold brew. Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays, slightly later on weekends, and the busiest hour is the commute rush before 9. A drip coffee runs a few dollars, espresso drinks and specialty pours more, and tipping a dollar or a percentage on the card reader is customary but not required. Nearly every cafe offers free Wi-Fi, though some limit laptop seating at peak times or on weekends, and outlets are often the scarce resource.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 7 amβ4 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (215) 629-9292. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is oldcitycoffee.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
Customers rate it 4.5 out of 5 on Google across 508 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded coffee shops in Philadelphia.
Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Philadelphia is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Its my first time in Philly. And despite how glaringly obvious that probably seemed, and despite being incoherent and sweaty from the heat, the baristas were so kind and helpful and quick! Not to mention how great and refreshing the coffee was (I got an iced lavender latte) and the food, too (everything bagel with scallion cream cheese). It was delicious, and the shop itself is so cozy but also so aesthetic. I came here middle of a day during the week, and the place wasn't empty, but it wasn't super packed either. The perfect coffee shop vibes! I can't wait to come back with my husband and show him this place when we visit Philly together for vacation someday.

I've been to one of their stalls in Readung Terminal but today I stopped at their historic location in Old City. Walking in, I immediately liked the vibes. It's cute and cozy - and the staff were friendly. I ordered a cheese croissant and a lavender latte - both were delicious! If you're in the area and need a treat, I highly recommend stopping β€οΈ

A nice and quiet coffee shop tucked away in the old city neighbourhood of Philly. They roast their own coffee and have a nice selection to choose from. I would recommend stopping by.

Old City coffee is one of the most charming cafes in the city. Tucked onto a small cobblestone street in old city, the ambiance is immediately lovely. Charming historic details mix with thoughtfully chosen art work and decor. Everything is made in house, from coffee roasted right up the street to the delicious baked goods hot from the oven every morning (the butterscotch muffins and chocolate chip cookies are a must!!). The staff is always so bright and kind. Some staff members have been there for many many years and it shows in how deeply they care for their customers and the shop itself. Itβs an βeverybody knows your nameβ kind of place and I look forward to warm smiles every time I go in. Lastly, if youβre a decaf drinker - they have the best, freshest decaf iced coffee around. Thanks old city!!
